چکیده

The QRS loop on the horizontal plane of the vectorcardiogram and the QRS complex in the right praecordial leads of the electrocardiogram were studied in 8o patients with strictly posterior and/or lateral infarction. In all 30 patients with combined posterolateral infarction a ratio RIS greater than I in lead Vi was found. In I9 out of the 23 patients with strictly posterior infarction and in all 9 patients with isolated lateral infarction this ratio was less than i. Posteroinferior infarction (i8patients) behaved like strictly posterior infarction. In posterolateral infarction a pronounced preponderance of the anterior over the posterior QRS loopforces

High Anterior Myocardial Infarction

T HE most widely accepted electrocardiographic classification of myocardial infarction is that proposed by Wilson and his associates.' They classified myocardial infarction "on the basis of the leads in which characteristic modifications of both the QRS deflections and the T complexes appear and have been given names indicative of the parts of the ventricular wall known, or thought, to be invol...

Transient QRS changes simulating acute myocardial infarction.

The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics and incidence of abrupt occurrence of abnormal initial QRS forces that cannot be explained by acute myocardial infarction or left or right ventricular overload. Computerized data from 3175 patients with suspected acute infarction were reviewed to identify those in whom the ECGs revealed QRS complexes considered to be diagnostic (Q w...

Vectorcardiographic study of aberrant conduction anterior displacement of QRS: another form of intraventricular block.

Aberrant ventricular conduction was induced in 44 subjects by introduction of atrial premature beats through a transvenous catheter-electrode. Multiple patterns of aberrant ventricular conduction were obtained in 32 patients and, in the whole group, 116 different configurations were recorded. Of these, 104 showed a classical pattern of mono- or biventricular conduction disturbance. The pattern ...

Electrocardiographic "peri-infarction Block". a Clinical and Pathologic Correlation.

THE TERM "peri-infarction block" was suggested by First, Bayley, and Bedford1 in 1950 to describe a type of intraventricular conduction defect that develops following myocardial infarction. They described alteration in the direction of the early portion of the QRS complex (initial QRS forces) that produced definite manifestations of myocardial infarction (i.e., Q waves) and slurring and prolong...

Body surface distributions of repolarization forces during acute myocardial infarction. I. Isopotential and isoarea mapping.

Although ST-segment abnormalities during acute myocardial infarction are clinically important, the total thoracic distribution of these repolarization potentials has not been reported. To provide this information, 24 patients with acute myocardial infarction were studied. Isopotential body surface maps were constructed from potentials sensed by 150 anterior and posterior electrodes. Patterns fr...
